Since we didn't start this Team Adorkable blog until Swimrun Austin in 2020, all of our older race reports are elsewhere. Swimrun Casco Bay 2023 race report.

Casco Bay ! One of our favorite swimruns, and a great training day for a an upcoming long race. Not exactly ideal for the race WE'RE doing, since it's pretty darn flat, but lots of running, lots of swimming, transition practice, nutrition practice, gear practice. A lot of opportunities to practice a lot of things. Plus it's beautiful and has better July weather than either Austin or Atlanta, and it's an opportunity to hang out with all our favorite people. Since we never get to train together, Adorkable reunions are always happy times! While Casco isn't exactly the ideal training ground for Rockman , we learned last year that it IS the perfect training ground for ÖTILLÖ World Championship. This year the Kalamanders, one of our most favorite sister teams, is heading to Sweden for WC, and we recommended they do Casco as part of their lead-up, if they were able. Rockman Swimrun 2023 Race Report

It started with a promposal. In 2018, Trista sent me this photo. This is an amazing time capsule. We're not using ANY of that gear anymore. Quite the opposite. We did our first swimrun  in early 2018, and we fell in love with the sport immediately. Completely hooked. We wanted to do them all. We mostly chose our bucket list races based on photos, and when we saw all the videos Marcus had created and shared, we knew we needed to do this race. But we were brand new to swimrun, and knew it was too soon to do something of that magnitude in 2018. And my husband and I were already planning to do our 20th anniversary bike adventure from London to Stockholm in 2019, which would eat basically all my available vacation. So 2020 it was! I obviously accepted her promposal immediately. We got a coach in late 2019 and started training. We were committed. And then, well, 2020 happened. And  Rockman didn't happen. And then 2021 happened. Swimrun Austin 2023 race report

The race formerly known as Ödyssey Swimrun Austin is now becoming  ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Austin , and this was the first race in the new partnership formed between Ödyssey and  ÖTILLÖ ! Super excited for this development and what it means for the future of swimrun, especially here in the US. Extra super excited to potentially have three new US swimruns on the future docket, and very impatient to find out where they might be. This was our last swimrun of the 2023 swimrun season, and we had a great group of friends and  Envol teammates descend upon Pace Bend Park to do the race. But first.. I guess I would be remiss if I didn't address the Swimrun Orcas Island issue.  Trista and I were registered for Orcas Island. We flew to Seattle. We flew from Seattle to Orcas Island in a cute little island hopper. We did the Envol clinic the day before the race. Why no race report, then, you ask?
